Whether it's birthday, Christmas, mother's or father's day, scented items make great gifts. At the time of this writing, it's the Christmas Season and hubby and I decided to take a walk through the mall and sample fragrances. Yes, in the mall during the holiday season ... go figure!

One of his favorites is Givenchy Pi. With notes of Mandarin, Pine Needles, Rosemary, Guaiac Wood and Benzoin, it a winner on hubby’s skin. He has his own trick of putting unscented lotion in the palm of his had and spraying Pi into it. He then applies it to his body it is intoxicating.

Next is was Ms Blue. With top notes of grapefruit, mandarin orange, cardamon and pink pepper what a delight to the nose. Middle notes of jasmine, lavender, nutmeg and incense. Completing this beauty is patchouli, musk, vetiver, ambrosian and amber. This scent to me is like smelling heaven on earth.

Tuberose As A Single Note Perfume?

Tuberose kept coming into my nasal passage, yet neither of these blends mention tuberose. Years ago, I purchased a Jo Malone, body butter called Tuberose. Not Tuberose Angelica, just Tuberose.

It was a very unusual and unique blend of oils. It was not something that tI could wear everyday. It used to make me sneeze. That’s usually a sign of synthetics for me.

Hello …

I wanted desperately to smell Hello by Lionel Richie. It’ll have to wait. I couldn’t take another spritz of fragrances to try.

I like the idea of its formulation.

Top Notes: Pear, Lemon, Grapefruit, Peruvian pepper tree blossom
Heart Notes: Jasmine, Tuberose
Base Notes: Honey, Tonka bean, Ambrox, Patchouli

For the record, newer perfumes are being made with Ambroxan. Ambroxan is a synthetic ingredient made to mimic ambergris. Ambergis is what sperm which is illegal.
