Resort Day Passes in Grand Cayman

Resort Day Passes in Grand Cayman
Located in the Western Caribbean, Grand Cayman Island offers a wide array of attractions for cruise passengers. One of these is famed Seven Mile Beach, one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world. Several properties and resorts provide day passes for cruise passengers interested in enjoying a relaxing day at the beach in Grand Cayman.

While cruise lines offer excursions that include a day at the beach, many budget-oriented passengers prefer to go on their own. One of the most economical options for independent travelers is the Royal Palms Beach Club. Royal Palms is located directly on Seven Mile Beach, just a short drive from the cruise ship tender area in Georgetown. This property offers a beachfront patio dining area, a full-service bar and restaurant, showers, bathrooms and changing rooms. Access to all this is just $2 per person. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free of charge. Beach lounge chairs can be rented for an additional $8 per person. The facility also has a nice adults-only pool.

Cruise passengers can also reserve a private shaded cabana for their use. Nine of these cabanas are available and each comes with a table, four chairs and four lounge chairs. The charge for these cabanas is $100 per day. Wet 'n Wild, a watersports concessionaire, offers snorkeling equipment and jet skis for an additional fee.

Royal Palms is located just across the street from Camana Bay, an upscale mixed use development containing shops, restaurants, and even a movie theater. Cruise passengers seeking fine dining options will find them here. Located on the harbor with al fresco dining and beautiful water views, Ortanique serves fresh seafood with a tropical flair. Their coffee and cocoa-crusted salmon is superb.

Several resorts also sell day passes for cruise passengers. ResortforaDay.com sells a limited number of passes to the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa. This pass includes complete access to all outdoor resort amenities including the beach, pool, lounge chairs and sports facilities. Guests also receive their own guest room for resting and showering if they desire. Spa services, restaurant dining and drinks are available at the property for an additional fee. The charge for this pass, which covers up to four people, is $199 per day.

The Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort also occasionally offers day passes for cruise passengers. These day passes are most likely to be available during the low season (late April to mid-December) and non-holiday periods when the resort is not full. Contact the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort directly for information on availability and full details.
