English Garden Shrub Jigsaw Puzzle

English Garden Shrub Jigsaw Puzzle
Doing jigsaw puzzles is a great way to exercise your mind when you can't exercise in the garden. Here is a puzzle you can try your hand at.
Hint: When you've got the piece in the right place, it will 'click' into place. If it's too easy for you, you can change the difficulty level. Just click on 'change cut' and you can increase the number of pieces, or the shape of the pieces.

The color of hydrangeas frequently varies according to the acidity of the soil. Alklaline soil (when the PH is above 7) will usually have a pink flower. Highly acidic soil is necessary for blue flowers. If you aren't getting the color you really want, you can add sulfur (ammonium sulfate) to the soil around the plant to get blue flowers. To get pink flowers, add lime around the base of the plant. Note, though, that you can't instantly change the PH of the soil - so don't expect your hydrangea to instantly turn a different color. It can take a year or more for the soil composition to change adequately to affect the color. Do a soil test to find out the PH of your soil.

A shrub in a tub will give you instant depth and maturity to your English Garden container display.

Evergreen shrubs often have dark green leaves which will contrast beautifully with the lush green growth of your colourful annuals and herbaceous perennials.
