Pen Friend review

Pen Friend review
The Pen Friend is a small portable recording device that records messages onto a round or square sticker. The stickers are attachable to most surfaces including freezer bags and items in the refrigerator.

Do you have trouble remembering what all the containers in the refrigerator actually contain? Do you wish you had a system for labeling the cans and bottles in the kitchen and bathroom cabinets? Do you need an easy way to handle written materials such as a birth certificate, pictures and other documents? The Pen Friend could be exactly what you need.

The Pen friend recorder is easy to use with only four buttons that are easy to locate and identify.

The features of the Pen Friend include the following:

A (Over 250 hours of recording time
B (4GB internal memory
C) Ability to download MP3 files
D (Download books and music
E (A package of one hundred twenty-seven labels of varying shapes and sizes.
F (A neck lanyard attached for easy hands free carrying.
G (Uses two triple A batteries
H (Two sheets of labels one with circle labels and one with square labels.
I (Built-in microphone and USB cable

The adhesive stickers can be recorded over several times but cannot be removed after attached without damaging the recording function. The stickers do not have a recording time limit but cannot be placed into the washer.

Operating the Pen friend is simple.

Step 1:
Attach a sticker into a desired location
Step 2:
Put the recording point of the Pen friend into contact with the sticker surface,
Step 3:
Press the record button, hold down and record a message.
Step 4:
After completing a message remove the Pen Friend from the sticker surface then hold down the play button while touching the Pen Friend to the sticker. The message will play back as long as the Pen Friend Is in contact with the sticker surface.

The Pen Friend is reasonably priced at $140 from Independent Living Aids and Maxi Aids.

Editor’s Note:
I do not own a Pen friend but have witnessed a demonstration of the device and believe the product is a great item of equipment for a visually impaired person.
